Did you know?: Dzi Agate, Tibetan Agate or Etched Agate have been found from as early as 2500 BC. Because agate is hard it would need to be heated before it could be carved and even then, this may not always work. The Etching process is a treatment which would darken areas of the stone using heat, or bleaching patterns into the stone.
